How new membership works


When you register your email address above, we immediately send you an introductory email. This mainly serves to confirm that the email address you gave us is working. You can reply to this email if you want to. For example you may want to provide additional information over and above any contact information you give us above.

If your email address, Web site and contact details are for a well-known organisation, then your membership is approved promptly - usually within 24 hours. If we are less certain, we contact you to confirm before approving your membership. We send you another email when we approve your membership.

Either way, we're not trying to make membership difficult - just restricted to the sort of users we want. Until your membership is approved, you are welcome to use this web site but contractor contact details will be hidden.

What email address to use ?

If you have no email address at all, we can't help you. 90% of our/client contact with you is via email. Please use an email address that is private and durable e.g. preferably not one at your current client if you are a contractor on a short-term contract.

You can always log on here even if an old email address you gave us no longer works - then update your email address above.

Problem with your email address ?

Please contact us (email preferred assuming you have any email address which works) giving us as much information as you can, including contact details. We will try to locate your email address in our membership database.

Problem with your password ?

Please send us an email from your membership email address - or quote your membership email address in the body of the email if you are using a different FROM: address. Please also give contact details. We will let you know your password from our membership records as soon as we're satisfied as to your identity. We prefer to do this by telephone.



Membership Conditions (August 2003)


1) Joining ContractDB: You become a member of ContractDB when we approve your email address for use to log in on our Web site. You receive a unique Member ID when you join ContractDB. Your joining ContractDB is at our absolute discretion.
2) Limitation of Use: At our absolute discretion and with no notification, we may limit your use of our Web site based on your Member ID and/or email address.
3) Termination of Membership: You may terminate your membership at any time. Upon termination we will remove all your information from our database and Web site, with the exception of any records required to support any limitations on your future use of our Web site.
4) Accuracy of Information: We assume no responsibility for the accuracy of any information provided by members on our Web site.
5) Variation of Agreement: We may vary these Membership conditions at any time, with the new conditions taking effect immediately they are published on our Web site.
6) Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the Isle of Man.



Privacy Statement

We respect your privacy completely.

You give us your information in trust - we do not own it and we have no right to it other than as custodian.

We are registered as a Data User in terms of the United Kingdom Data Protection Act (2002). This guarantees your right of access to any information we hold about you.

In addition to your rights in terms of this Act, we view your personal details as strictly confidential. We will not make any information we have about you available to anyone except registered users of our Web site and other parties where we are required to do so by law.

We will only contact you (by email, fax, letter, telephone) as and when required to support your existing business with us. At any time you may instruct us to cease contact with you - on any topic and/or by any means of communication - and we will respect your request.

You have the right to know exactly where and how we record information about you, whether on computer or manual records. Subject to legal constraints (e.g. retention of legally binding contracts) and our Membership Conditions, you have the right to ask us to destroy these records completely.
